BioVectra Inc. has an immediate opening for a Research Scientist, specializing in microbiology and protein biochemistry.  This is a permanent, full-time position.

Position Objectives:

The candidate will be responsible for undertaking projects involving the development of  new fermentation processes for pharmaceutical products; the preparation and maintenance of cell  banks; the technical transfer of laboratory processes to production scale; optimizing existing fermentation processes; testing and evaluating the progress of fermentation cultures; and developing downstream isolation and purification processes for both small molecule and protein products.

Successful candidate for this position should have a M.Sc. in microbiology or biochemistry with a strong working knowledge of fermentation/cell culture, and 2-5 years industrial scale fermentation experience in a cGMP environment.  Experience in fermentation of recombinant organisms would be an asset.
